President - Robert VandeBergh
Robert has been involved with the Sheriff's Office since 2010. He was born and raised in western Washington County and graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in Business, with a focus on Information Systems Management. Robert is currently the Director of Information Technology for ACES Medical, an Oregon based medical IT consulting firm and has been working in technology for over 14 years. Along with his role as a foundation president, he also serves as a Reserve Deputy with the Sheriff's office.
Vice President - John Somoza
John has over 30 years of experience in the high-tech industry. Currently he is a contracts and licensing manager at Intel Corporation. Prior to this role John held various other positions within Intel to include program management, business development and patent analysis. Before Intel John held senior-level sales and marketing positions in companies such as NEC Electronics, SUN Microsystems, Rockwell Semiconductor, Brooktree Semiconductor and Mindspeed Technologies. He started out his career as a design engineer at Texas Instruments. John has a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Syracuse University, a Masters of International Management degree from Portland State University and a Juris Doctor (law) degree from Lewis & Clark Law School. John and his wife are also a certified foster parents in Washington county and in his free time he volunteers as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff.
Treasurer - Suraj Sindia
Suraj was born and raised near Bangalore, India. He holds bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees all in or related to electrical and computer engineering. He has filed over 10 patents and published more than 25 peer reviewed papers at various international conferences and journals. He is currently working at Intel Corporation as a Research and Development Engineer focused on developing technology solutions for enhancing quality, reliability and regulatory compliance of Intel’s products. When not working, he enjoys volunteering, writing, reading, bike-riding, and, most of all, hanging out with his young niece.
Secretary - Pam Yee
Pam was born and raised in Portland and graduated from Portland State University with a degree in political science. She attended Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark, Portland and passed the Oregon State Bar in 1987 (and is also licensed in Washington state). She has practiced in Washington county since 1987 and owns Schmidt and Yee, PC with Michael A. Schmidt. Her practice focuses on small business set-up and transactions, real estate matters, construction, commercial collections and estate planning, and she was awarded the Washington County Bar Association Professionalism Award in 2011. Pam has volunteered with the WCSO for over 13 years and has served on numerous boards, including Aloha Sunset Rotary over the last 25 years. Pam is an avid distance bicycle rider and wine & beer enthusiast.
Board Member - Chris Berry
Chris Barry has volunteered with the Sheriff's Office since 2007. He studied Political Science at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He serves on the Hillsboro School District Budget Committee, The Board of Directors for Open Door Housing Center, and is Cub Master of Cub Scout Pack 260 in Hillsboro. He works as a Sr. Mortgage Banker with American Pacific Mortgage in Orenco Station, and is Past President of the Oregon Association of Mortgage Professionals, and Chaired it's Statewide Ethics Committee. He is happily married to the love of his life since 1994, and has 3 children.
Board Member - Sal DiGrande
Sal has volunteered with the Washington County Sheriff's Office for over 12 years as a member of the Enhanced Sheriff's Patrol District (ESPD) Advisory Committee. He has also volunteered his time on fundraising and editorial support for the Washington County Public Safety and ESPD levies. He is currently serving as President of RiversWest Small Craft Center, Portland. In addition to his love of small wooden craft, Sal is an avid reader enjoying varied topics such as history, international and current affairs, economics...and loves thrillers, too. Sal retired as a Business Development Manager from RENCO Encoders, a California-based technology company, with duties in key account management, marketing, advertising, web and e-commerce development.
Board Member - Anand Kasukurthi
Anand was born in India and has been living in US for the past 31 years. For the past 18 years he has been with Intel. At Intel, he held various managerial and technical contributor’s positions in Technical Marketing, Automation, Process Engineering, Program Management, and Integration. He is currently serving as a Commodity Manager, managing various suppliers providing Specialty Materials and Precursors to Intel’s global Factories and Assembly Test network. Prior to joining Intel Anand worked as an Engineering Manager at Eaton Semiconductor Division, a Manager at Lockheed, an Instructor at Bradley University, and Chippewa Valley Technical College. Anand has two Masters Degrees in Electrical Engineering. One degree is from Bradley University, Peoria, IL and the other is from Indian Institute of Science (I.I.Sc), Bangalore, India. He is married with two children. His son is a Surgeon and daughter is a Project Manager in the healthcare industry. Anand is committed to give back to community in his own small way.
Board Member - Brad Lloyd
Brad has been in the IT field for many years and is currently a supervisor in the ITS Department for Washington County. He is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute and Multnomah Biblical Seminary, and his first career was as a youth pastor. Brad and his wife, who is a community crisis chaplain with WCSO, enjoy vintage hunting, classic car shows, the outdoors, being with each other, family, and friends, exploring new places, and meeting people.
Board Member - Christine Turner
Christine was born and Raised in the Forest Grove/Hillsboro area. She married her high school sweetheart and raised two sons. She served on the Board of Directors for the Evergreen Little League and volunteered whenever needed for school and scouts while her boys were growing up. She studied Legal Administration at Pioneer Pacific College and has been working in the Metro area as an Executive Assistant for the last 25 years. She is currently an Administrative Assistant at Intel in the Internet of Things Group. She’s looking forward to giving back to the community through the Sheriff’s Office Foundation of Washington County, Oregon.
Board Member - Bob Zahrowski
Bob has 30+ years as a consultant in strategy and business process improvement, working with both national and international businesses and governments. His clients represent a diverse variety of services and industries, from utilities, manufacturing and retail, to not-for-profit, financial and communications. In addition, Bob taught upper-level university courses to business seniors, and master’s and doctoral candidates. Now retired, Bob strongly believes in giving back to our community through volunteering. He serves on the board of the Enhanced Sheriff’s Patrol District (ESPD) and teaches classes Employment and Parenting to men and women inmates at the Washington County Jail. He has also volunteered with Rotary International, the International Institute of Business Analysis (western regional director), American Society for Quality (ASQ) of Portland, and the Portland Chamber of Commerce.
